This excellent tool gets over the difficulty of using conventional travelling steadys for small bar stock of under 5/16 (8mm). It is also ideal for making small diameter studs.It is easily mounted on most small to medium sized lathes (typically 3-6" centre height) including Myford. In effect it is a travelling steady but the work is always supported at the point of cut thus eliminating any flexing of the stock. The tool enables users to turn diameters as small and as long as required from standard stock in one pass.
