The Tormek T7 sharpening system raises the standards of such sharpening systems further and offers a premium sharpening solution. The T7 also offers a 200W motor, heavy duty steel construction, water-cooled sharpening wheel and leather honing wheel but the kit of accessories has been extended to contain the new TT-50 Truing and Dressing Tool, the SP-650 Stone Grader and the new SE-76 Square Edge Jig which has an increased capacity of 76mm (3″) and has safety stops to prevent chisels running off the side of the stone. The unit features an NVR safety switch, making it suitable for use in education and other areas where an NVR switch is a necessity. The comprehensive range of specialist grinding jigs makes this the first choice for amateurs and professionals alike. Tools can be sharpened either with the Supergrind wheel cutting towards the edge, or by using the XB100 support base, grinding away from the edge (preferable in some cases, especially with carving tools). The main tool support bar is fitted with a micro-adjuster which makes setting up or replicating a sharpening angle both easy and highly accurate. The T7 package includes; TT-50 Truing and Dressing Tool, SP-650 Stone Grader, SE-76 Square Edge Jig, WM-200 angle setting guide, PA-70 honing paste, an extremely comprehensive handbook and the Tormek DVD all packed in a permanent storage box.

Some tools are best sharpened with the stone running towards the edge and other tools should have the stone running away from the edge. With the new Tormek Rotating Base RB-180, you can easily rotate the machine 180° to select the ideal sharpening direction. It also makes it simple to switch from sharpening to honing!
A priority during the design process has been to make the RB-180 as thin as possible in order not to affect the working height. The rubber feet ensure it remains steady during sharpening. The RB-180 will fit the Tormek T-7 and T-3, the 2000 and 1200 Series plus the SA-250 and N-1500.
